The team

Daniele Trinchero

Assistant professor at Politecnico di Torino (Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunications), where in 2004 he founded the iXem Labs with Riccardo Stefanelli and Ludwig dei Ghermanti. His research interests encompass Wireless Networks, Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, and solutions to reduce digital divide in developing countries, and in marginal areas of developed ones. He is member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Riccardo Stefanelli

graduating in Telecommunication Engineering at Politecnico of Torino, carries out different activities in this group. Experienced in antennas and radiofrequency instrumentation, since three years is responsible of didactic formation in the Electromagnetic-Fields Lab at Politecnico of Torino. Since two years is tutor of the course Radiofrequncy Systems II in the Degrees at Distance of telecommunication and electronic engineering. Active in the reserch field, he is developing innovative frequency-selective surfaces suitable for the reclamation of sites exposed to high radiofrequenzy fields by means of light-transparent shielding techniques. He also takes active part in development and installation of new wireless networks (WLAN).

Ludwig dei Ghermanti

More than a Mascotte. A resolute leader, one the three founders of the Lab, author of scientific papers and international publications. He likes snow, running, hunting.

Abel Rodriguez de la Concepcion

was born on December 14th 1983 in Cardenas, Cuba. In 2005 he started his studies in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering at Havana Polytechnic University (CUJAE). In 2010 he came to Italy to course the Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. He is currently doing his master thesis at iXem Labs.

Elisa Pievanelli

PhD student of Electronic Engineering. In 2012, she obtained the Master Degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. She is interested in everything concerning the Internet of Things, in particular the design of wireless sensors networks deployed in harsh environment. She is an eclectic and motivated person.

Blerti Cela

was born on September 5th 1989 in Tirana, Albania. He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Telecommunication Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Albania, in 2010. He then enrolled in the Master Course of Telecommunication Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, where he obtained his Master Degree in 2013 while working at iXem LAbs. Currently he is a PhD student in Electronic Engineering, researching on the field of wireless sensor networks.

Mario Demaria

born in Moncalieri (TO) on 1st September 1989. After the achievement of the High School Diploma from ìLiceo Scientifico C. Darwinî of Rivoli (TO), he received his Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Torino with a grade of 108/110. During this course of study, he had an important traineeship experience at iXem Labs (DET), where he was involved in the development of innovative printed antennas in the context of the Watermole project. Because of his great passion about electronics for telecommunication, I continued my studies with the Master Degree in Electronic Engineering, specializing on Wireless Systems Design. He received my Master Degree title in October 2013 with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, presenting a thesis work on wireless sensors for diffused Wi-Fi networks. His desire of enhancing my scientific knowledge and my great interest on wireless networks led him to go ahead with the PhD studies in Electronic Engineering at iXem Labs, where currently he studies and designs wireless sensor networks for intelligent agriculture. In his spare time, he loves reading fantasy books and he is very interested in sports, especially football and NBA basket.
